As a writer who has to choose after every poem/fiction I write as to whether I should paywall it or submit to a publication, I would 100% support a split of the payout between the publication and the writer. Contrary to how broken model book publishing royalties works, I would prefer if writers get a larger share of the pie than the publication. But I will have no problem if publications get a non trivial share as well.
