darling, if you were listening
you really would have known
I don’t talk behind your back
and I always mind my tone.
darling, if you were listening
you really would have wondered
why I ignored your rabid rambles
while you blundered and thundered.
darling, if you were listening
you really would have seen
that first crack down my heart
before it smashed to smithereens.
darling, if you were listening
you really would have heard
my silence screams louder
than your provoking words.
