Interesting. It never happens to me when I’m asleep. Or at least it hasn’t happened yet. I do usually have a pen/paper on my bedside (or my phone), so I suspect if it happened I’d write them down too. I wonder if I’d be able to go back to sleep though. As my call to creativity is poetry, a trigger can very easily develop into a complete first draft in the next half an hour if the flow is right. And it’s very difficult to stop then, to let an idea be an idea for a while without chasing its tail. At least it’s difficult for me — probably comes naturally to others.

You mentioned morning writing sessions. If I could ask, how long are they? Do you have targets of what you want to accomplish before you begin?
