Ode to Friendship

dull days and shadows dark
need but a single spark,
words of praise,
a sympathetic gaze
to weather the terrible torrents of life,
whisper silent incantations,
revive a tired spirit
with the resolve of a rampaging rhino,
uprooting the brambles of fate,
find a clearing that spies a green field
and the weeping specks of desert sand,
tearful embers,
are doused in the magic of mirth,
transformed into jars of jovial wine,
shared with a darling friend,
a cozy spot of warm sunlight
forever mine.
